“Benchmarking – Learn from Each Other”

Benchmarking is:

  • An improvement process which measures a company’s performance against other companies considered to be "best-in-class“.
  • Looks at how those companies achieved their high performance.
  • Information gained from the benchmark activity is applied as part of the continuous improvement process.
  • Competitive Benchmarking compares your products or services to the competition.
  • Comparative Benchmarking comparing your products or services to those similar to yours.

A few businesses we work with have offered to provide tours of their facilities in trade for tours of other facilities.  If you are interested in some Comparative Benchmarking and would like to trade tours, please let Ric know (ricvdl@progressivedge.com). In 2012, he will be coordinating some tour trades in the San Diego area.
